Santa Cruz Volunteer Expedition (7d/7n)

Description:  Volunteer opportunity to the Santa Cruz Forest Reserve. Volunteers will be expected to work 4-5 hours daily, with remaining time free for other activities. Maintenance of trails and bridges, surveys of trees, reforestation, GPS mapping, light construction.

Requirements:  Volunteer participants should be able-bodied and must be able to swim. They should also be tolerant of insects, spiders, heat, humidity and sweat. Dietary flexibility is highly encouraged (specialized food items are NOT locally available, and vegans may have a difficult time).

Cost: US $795, paid to Project Amazonas ($400 tax-deductible for US taxpayers). Includes airport reception and drop-off, all field station lodging and fees, all river transport, all meals and hotel in Iquitos the night of 16 March. Any additional nights lodging in Iquitos are not included. 

Schedule: Depart from Iquitos for Santa Cruz Forest Reserve at 9 AM on 17 March; Return to Iquitos by 12 noon on Saturday 23 March.
