SOME QUICK ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: Will I get eaten by an anaconda or piranhas?

A: No, Nope, Nein, Non, Nyet, and again No.

Q: Is there Internet / phone service?

A: Yes - we have a Starlink mobile unit that travels with expeditions.

Q: What is the plan in case of a medical emergency?

A: We always have a speedboat permanently on hand with any expedition. The first step would be immediate evacuation to the closest medical facility for stabilization, and then transport to the Clinica Ana Stahl, the best private hospital in Iquitos with a state of the art ICU. And of course, make phone contact with any designated emergency contact persons as soon as possible.

Q: Are there vaccinations I should get in advance?

A: Peru does not require any vaccinations for entry into Peru, but we recommend that consult with your doctor prior to travel, and be up to date on standard vaccinations. If you are planning on traveling overland to Brazil from Peru, the Brazilian authorities do require proof of a Yellow Fever vaccine.
