Project Amazonas (PA) is an American-Peruvian non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1994. It works in the Loreto region of Peru on conservation, education, medical and sustainable development projects with the goals of simultaneously improving the lives of the people living there and being a good steward of the biological riches of the Amazon rainforest.

The organization was started by the owners of Margarita Tours and by former clients of theirs who shared the conviction that they needed to return something to this amazing corner of the globe that they had visited and worked in. MT Amazon Expeditions maintains that commitment to the Amazon, and all proceeds of the company are invested in the Peruvian Amazon region - largely through Project Amazonas, and in support of its field stations and medical service boats which are chartered by MT Amazon Expeditions.

For much more information about the activities of Project Amazonas, please visit www.projectamazonas.org. The NGO is a 501(c)3 organization registered legally in the State of Florida (USA), and at the regional (Loreto) and national level in the Republic of Perú.
